💥 I'm BACK 💥 Also, I was on a gameshow 🕹

Hey Reader,

Where have I been?: Well, I was in Europe for a few weeks. Then I visited my brother and his wife in Montana since they had a new baby while I was abroad. Then, I was exhausted! More tired than I'd ever been from traveling. It was nice to get away, eat a bunch, and drink a million coffees a day! Here's Michelangelo's David!

Quote of the Week:

A ship harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for. - John A. Shedd

What I'm Enjoying: Some of you already know this, but I've been working on Spanish for over a year. I've been more serious about it recently. As much as I like Duolingo because it's gamified and fun, Pimsleur makes you speak, and that's the part I struggle with the most because I get embarrassed.

Boast of the Week: Is it weird if it's me? Kind of, oh well. I beat my competitors on a trivia game show called Split Second. Although I didn't walk away with the grand prize of $10,000, I still beat my competitors (who we men) and walked away with some cash...still waiting on that check.

Entrepreneurship Topic: Embracing Side Hustles: The Power of Diversifying Your Income Streams

The importance of diversifying income streams has become more evident than ever. Embracing side hustles and picking up work outside of your full-time job can provide financial security, opportunities for growth, and a sense of control over your destiny.

  1. The Changing Landscape: Adapt or Get Left Behind The job market is evolving rapidly, and relying solely on a single source of income is no longer a safe bet. Corporate layoffs and economic downturns can devastate individuals with no backup plan. Embracing the entrepreneurial spirit and actively seeking side hustles allows you to adapt to the changing landscape and safeguard your financial stability.
  2. Unlocking Financial Freedom: Reducing Dependency on a Single Income By diversifying your income streams, you create a safety net that helps protect you from financial hardships. Side hustles provide additional sources of revenue, which can be invested, saved, or used to cover unexpected expenses. The freedom that comes with not solely depending on one job can alleviate stress and provide financial security.
  3. Exploring Passions and Expanding Skills: Personal and Professional Growth Side hustles allow you to pursue your passions and research interests outside your full-time job. By taking on new projects, you expand your skill set and gain valuable experience that can enhance your professional profile. This diversification of skills and knowledge opens doors to new opportunities and potentially propels your career forward.
  4. Building a Safety Net: Protecting Yourself Against Uncertainty No job is ever completely secure. By diversifying your income streams, you create a safety net that can cushion the impact of unexpected job losses. Side hustles provide a foundation of stability during challenging times, giving you the flexibility to bounce back quickly and maintain financial independence.
  5. Balancing Act: Managing Time and Priorities Juggling a full-time job and side hustles requires effective time management and prioritization. Balancing your primary job, side projects, personal life, and self-care is crucial. Setting boundaries, delegating tasks, and maximizing productivity are essential in managing multiple income streams successfully.

In a time of economic uncertainty and widespread corporate layoffs, embracing side hustles and diversifying your income streams is smart. Doing so will unlock financial freedom, explore new passions, build a safety net, and gain a competitive edge in an ever-evolving job market. Don't wait for circumstances to dictate your financial future—take charge, seize opportunities, and embrace the power of multiple income streams.

Remember, in entrepreneurship, taking calculated risks can lead to remarkable rewards. So, step out of your comfort zone, diversify your income streams, and thrive in an era of possibilities.

Stay motivated!

Hey Reader, First—thank you. After my last email, not only did I get the kindest messages back (you know who you are 💛), but I also gained several new subscribers, which means we're almost at 100 people on this list! That number might feel small to some, but to me? It’s a reminder that showing up—even after a long pause—is always worth it. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been thinking about just how much has changed in the last five years. When I started my jewelry brand, Nueva Luxe, I had no...

Hey Reader, It's been a minute, and I know it. But in my defense—I had a baby! I know, not the best excuse for disappearing, but let me tell you, life has been a wild adjustment. Just the other day, I missed a phone call while putting my daughter to sleep and got a paragraph-long message about how I’m terrible at keeping in touch and probably ignored the call on purpose. Ouch. It’s hard not to take things personally, especially when they feel personal. But the truth is, nothing about this...

Hey Reader, Where have I been?: In my last email, I said I was back. I was back from Europe, but then I disappeared again. I owe you a massive apology for my radio silence. Life has been a rollercoaster lately, and I'm here to explain what's been up. I have exciting news to share – I'm going to be a mom! Baby is on the way, due in February, and I'm on cloud nine. Truthfully, I'm on the couch. It's a whole new adventure, and the countdown has officially begun. Over the past few months, I've...
